In the void’s embrace, where silence first stirred,
Chaos whispered secrets the cosmos had heard.
From Greek mists, Gaia rose, birthing sky’s dome,
Ouranos her lover, in eternal roam –
Titans and gods from their union were born,
Zeus thundering triumph in the golden morn.
Across northern fjords, in Ginnungagap’s chill,
Fire met ice in a primordial thrill.
Ymir the giant from droplets arose,
Fed by Audhumbla, till Odin’s blade chose
To carve from his flesh the earth’s rugged frame,
Seas from his blood, skies from his skull’s flame.
In Egypt’s deep Nun, the watery abyss,
Atum ascended, self-born in a kiss.
He spat forth the air, Shu, and moisture’s sweet Tefnut,
Geb the earth, Nut the sky, in divine pursuit –
Tears fell as mankind, from the sun-god’s eye,
Ra sailing heavens in his boat on high.
Babylon’s waters, Apsu sweet and Tiamat salt,
Mingled in chaos till gods sparked revolt.
Marduk the storm-lord, with winds wild and free,
Slew the great dragon, split her for land and sea –
From her mate’s blood, humans wrought to serve,
In Enuma Elish, the world’s ancient curve.
Hindu dreams on a cobra’s coiled bed,
Vishnu slumbered as the lotus bloomed red.
Brahma emerged from the navel’s bright flower,
Splitting the petals in creation’s hour –
Heavens and earth, beasts and souls in his art,
Cycles of birth, where destruction restarts.
Japan’s floating mass, amorphous and vast,
Izanagi and Izanami, lance in hand cast.
Stirring the ocean, islands dripped from the spear,
Gods of the winds, fires, and waters appear –
Amaterasu’s light from the left eye gleamed,
Ninigi descending, emperors dreamed.
Mayan whispers in the Popul Vuh’s page,
Tepeu and Gucumatz, hearts in sage.
Clay men dissolved, wood ones burned away,
Maize dough shaped true forms to greet the day –
Sun, moon, and stars in their vigil stand,
Humans of corn in the sacred land.
Yoruba skies where Olorun reigned high,
Obatala climbed a golden chain from the sky.
Sand from a shell, hen scratched earth wide,
Palm wine flowed, but flaws in pride –
Olokun’s floods raged, yet land took form,
Ifa the oracle guiding the storm.
Zoroastrian light, Ahura Mazda’s grace,
Against Angra Mainyu’s dark, twisted face.
Spiritual realms first, then physical birth,
Perfect man and bull slain, seeds to earth –
From stems rose Mashya and Mashyanag pure,
Good thoughts, words, deeds forever endure.
In Native tales, raven’s wings beat the tide,
Pea-pod man emerged, by creek’s side.
Berries fetched, life tapped from stone and wood,
Earth from depths, where tortoise understood –
Diving for mud in the watery veil,
Continents rose on its shell without fail.
Australian Dreamtime, where ancestors roamed,
Shaping the land in songs deeply intoned.
Rainbow Serpent carved rivers and hills,
Awakening spirits with creative thrills –
Sun Mother warmed ice to birth streams and kin,
Eternal laws etched where the Dreaming begins.
From eggs and voids, giants and gods’ decree,
Dismembered forms birthing land and sea.
Across cultures’ threads, one grand design weaves,
Humanity’s spark from what myth conceives –
In chaos’ cradle, diverse yet kin,
Worlds born anew where stories begin.
