  1. I’ve fought for the decolonisation of the Middle East for most of my life, first as an academic, then in a more visceral way. The truth: Israel is simply an extension of mechanisms of imperial control, it’s not a genuine state, it’s a military outpost of the United States empire.

My friend I feel a real pity for you. Israel is probably the most destructive country this century has known, so far. It is aggressive, racist, and arrogant. It’s nothing than an outpost of western economic exploitation.

    2. Paulo

Faceless my old and dear friend, there are a number of us, me and Bakchos included who empathise with your pain. I pray that one day, hopefully in the not too distant future, you will see enough justice to put your soul at rest.

FFF I know that Blakandblack isn’t at the forefront of social justice, but the team, some have been with us since the beginning, 16 years ago, others are more recent recruits, do what we can to highlight the counter narrative. Paulo and I know what Israel did to your family, all I can say is – stay strong my friend – keep peacefully agitating for justice, that’s why BnB exists, to fight for justice for all people.

Western neo imperialism is destroying Africa. It must end.

Colonial administrators have swapped pith helmets and shackles for briefcases and contracts, but the theft and exploitation remains the same.

  4. Jen

Australia is one of those former colonies that is still be exploited by our imperial overlords.

  5. Joseph

Western owned and operated multinational companies are destroying Africa, they are proving just as destructive as 19th Century European nation state colonialism. If the west doesn’t want refugees, stop creating the environment that causes refugees.

    1. Watershedd

      Agreed, Joseph.

There is something unsettling about finding a Cold War propaganda cartoon more analytically precise than most contemporary commentary.

The suited figure in the second panel was an ideological weapon. But the question embedded in that image — about who the global economic order serves, who it costs, and whether its governing institutions are capable of genuine reform — was never purely a Soviet question.

It was always ours too. And it remains unanswered.

Corporate colonialism has destroyed Africa, and impoverished its people. Who benefits from corporate colonialism? The west. Corporate colonialism is the wordt kind of exploitation.
